Hello everyone! I hope you are all having an absolutely lovely weekend! As promised, I have a little haul from Brija Cosmetics to share with you guys! I picked up a few different things so I could give the products a nice test for you guys!

I bought a few eyeshadows, lipsticks and eye primers! I have thoroughly tested these products so get ready for an intensive review!

Here’s what I picked up!

Brija

Eyeshadows:

The nice thing about Brija eyeshadows is that you can choose from 3 sizes if you are unsure about which shades to choose. A baggy sample costs $1.45, a mini jar (what I got) is $2.75 and a full jar with a sifter is $5.50. I decided to go with the mini jars because I can never finish a full eyeshadow! The only down side with the mini jar is that you don’t get a sifter but that’s okay. I can work with that!

Fiendish Florist – This is a really pretty shimmering purple. This becomes much more intense if you foil the shadow. I have a post all about foiling eyeshadows and how I do it here.

Man of Leisure – This is a completely matte formulation and it is so smooth and blends so well! I was extremely impressed with this shadow. This is the perfect cool transition crease shade. Definitely very happy with this and it will get a ton of use!

The Lazy River Runs Deep – Another completely matte eyeshadow that is absolutely beautiful. This is just a gorgeous dirty purple shade and I’m completely in love. Total win.

Eye primer:

I have been desperately looking for a cleaner eye primer so I decided to give the Adhesive Eye Wax and Powder Eyeshadow Primer a try. Let me preface this review by saying that my eyelids are VERY oily. I mean really oily. The only eye primer I have ever found that is completely full proof is the Nars Pro Prime. Alright, this worked OK. It’s definitely better than using nothing but I still get creasing by the end of the day.

On the website, they suggest using the powder first and then the eye wax. It seemed a bit counterintuitive to me but I tried it, then I tried the other way as well. For science. I couldn’t really tell the difference honestly. It worked both ways. These primers are totally fine for everyday use but not if you really want your shadows to be bullet proof. I need a new eye primer for my wedding so PLEASE if you have any suggestions for non-toxic green eyeshadow primers let me know down in the comments!

Lipsticks:

So many people in the green community absolutely rave about Brija Lipsticks. They’re clearly pigmented, and the range of shades Brija offers is frankly incredible. But, I wasn’t blown away by the formula.

As you can see from the swatches they’re just a bit thick and the consistency wasn’t perfectly smooth. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I wasn’t thrilled with the texture. I also had an issue with swiveling the lipstick up in the tube. It kind of split into two pieces with the core going up and the sides kind of detaching. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about these lipsticks so I feel as though I just got an odd batch!

The colors are absolutely stunning and when I work them into the lips with a lip brush you can’t tell there are any texture issues. I just wish I didn’t have any issues with the tubes.

Free Samples:

These two eyeshadows were included with my order. They are both a matte formulation and super fun colors for summer! I love when companies include free samples. It forces you to try things you wouldn’t normally!

Overall:

I was definitely impressed with the quality of the eyeshadows! Especially the matte formulations. The eye primers are nice for daily use but not extremely long lasting. Perhaps someone with normal eyelids would find these perfectly acceptable! I was a bit disappointed with the lipsticks but you can’t have everything!

Have you tried anything from Brija? Let me know down in the comments! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Ooo, the eyeshadows are really lovely with good pigmentation! I can see what you mean about the lipstick just by looking at your swatch. I love lipsticks but I’ll give these a pass..

Hi Shireen 🙂 yes the eyeshadows are really impressive aren’t they? I was so bummed about the lipsticks because I’ve heard such amazing things about them!! I’m wondering if I just got an odd batch you know?

I have to agree with the whole lipstick issue I don’t like the formula much and the large inconsistency between shades (I have tried many )the lighter shades seem to be the most fickle for some reason the darker shades hold its shape a bit better although I don’t know why . For me the lighter shades we very goopy went all over the place and had an insane amount of texture that was almost pretty painful and uncomfortable to apply on the lips I even found a few grains of sugar which I think stevia is in the ingredient list for some but don’t quote me. So odd because everyone loves these I have. Ive never heard a single negative thing about them until I came across your post so that’s pretty comforting to know I’m not the only one out there who must of got a bad batch lol . The lipsticks are also 8.00 and you can get something that’s pretty much perfect at silk naturals for as low as 4.99 or highest 5.99 . So don’t think it’s worth the chance to take for 8.00

Hey Stephanie! I think she’s changed her formula now because I’ve tried the lighter shades and I actually prefer them to the darker! I do like silk naturals lipsticks a lot, I wish they didn’t use FD&C dyes in some of their colors though :/
