I recently placed an order from the amazing site, Seed to Serum. The owner, Megan, was extremely kind and included a Kester Black Nail Polish in Violet in my order! I am testing all the products I ordered and will write a review soon of what I picked up! For now, I thought I would show you the makeup look inspired by this amazing nail polish. Prepare yourselves. Things are about to get colorful.
First a note about the polish. I used only one coat of this and it just covered everything beautifully. No streaks, very creamy and extremely shiny. Not to mention 5-free, vegan and cruelty free!
For the look I wanted to create a spotlight eye that would match my nails and my lips. But I didn’t want everything to go too pink! I used a dark navy shadow on the outer corners of my eyes and blended that into the crease with a matte deep purple. On the inner corners I used a fuscia shadow and left the center of the lid bare.
The key to a spotlight eye that really pops is to use a white base underneath the shadow that will be the spotlight. I used a white cream shadow and patted that onto the ball of my eyelid. I then went in with the beautiful loose shadow from Silk Naturals, River. Butterfly Blue from Silk Naturals looks very similar, a big thanks to Naturally Keri for letting me know about this dupe!
To really make that spotlight eye pop I mirrored my shadow placement on my lower lash line. Added a bit of mascara and called it a day on the eyes. I did my foundation and concealer routine as normal (pictorial here). And then moved onto the fun part. Lips. I used the OCC Lip Tars in Narcissus and Rollergirl (Hoochie is similar) to create the perfect violet pink shade. OCC Lip tars are vegan and cruelty free. If you’re looking for high impact lip color I highly recommend them!
So, what do you think? Not terribly wearable (HA!) but fun none the less. A huge thank you to Megan from Seed to Serum for her generosity!!! Definitely go check out Seed to Serum for amazing natural and organic skincare! I am absolutely loving this polish for spring! Kester Black also does a beautiful pinky nude shade called Buttercream which I may pick up for my wedding!
Have you tried Kester Black Polishes? What do you think of matching your nails and makeup look? Let me know down in the comments!
