Acure Organics Review

As many of you know, I am slowly transitioning to more organic and natural skincare and cosmetics. Something that I realized really quickly was that switching your products to greener options gets expensive really fast! Enter Acure Organics. Organic skin and haircare without the crazy prices! But, do the products perform? Let’s find out! I’m clearly turning into the host for Reading Rainbow…those were the days, am I right?

These are the 3 products I picked up from iHerb (this is a great site for green beauty at a drugstore price point). You can also purchase Acure at Whole Foods which is convenient if you happen to shop there.

Acure Sensitive Facial Cleanser – This cleanser is really wonderful for sensitive skin. It is non-drying while still cleansing well. I do have to note that this does foam *slightly*. This cleanser would be perfect, if it weren’t for the smell. I can’t pinpoint what the smell is! Amoxicillin? It kind of smells like Agar Plates from micro lab…I have no idea, it really bothers me but it doesn’t bother my fiancé so maybe it’s just me!

Acure Clarifying Shampoo – This was definitely the winner of the bunch for me! It smells so clean and fresh! It isn’t at all drying or stripping for my scalp or hair. My issue with a lot of organic and natural shampoos is that they don’t foam like you want them to. This doesn’t foam as much as regular drugstore shampoos but it still gives a nice lather that makes your hair feel clean. I really like this one!

Acure Ultra-Hydrating Body Lotion – I have very very VERY dry skin. VERY DRY! Imagine a dehydrated crocodile in the sun at the ripe old age of 400. Cute right? If I’m not slathering my body in lotion within 30 seconds of exiting the shower I am not a happy camper. I just wanted to make that clear so you all know how much I expect of my lotions. I like ’em thick! This is a really nice, everyday lotion. But…it’s not thick enough or moisturizing enough for my winter skin. This moisturizer will be absolutely lovely for summer (or for someone who has normal human skin). I will definitely repurchase this in the warmer months.

I am not using any organic products. I used a few before and I wasn’t really happy with it so I stop looking for organic products. My skin gets the same if I don’t use a lotion right after shower, it gets so annoying so thick creams are my saviours in winter but in summer I can do with light ones.

That was my original issue with organic products as well. I think the formulations have really become a lot better! You can barely tell the difference anymore!

I have tried a moisturizer from Acure Organics but wasn’t impressed by it, never tried anything else though. The clarifying shampoo sounds good, might pick that up to try next.

Which moisturizer did you try? It definitely could be a bit more hydrating. The clarifying shampoo is probably my favorite of the bunch.

I need to try some of their facial moisturizers! The best thing is that they’re so affordable so I can actually afford to buy a few different products ha! Thanks Nereyda!
