Foundation Sample Review

Foundation Sample

I feel as though I’ve raved about Integrity Botanicals a million times on the blog. But here’s another rant. I LOVE that you can choose 3 custom samples with every order. It’s extremely difficult to find organic foundations in stores so it’s a really fantastic way to test them out and find the right shade/texture. They also provide enough product to get at least 4 days of wear out of each sample. Here are the ones I tried.

Vapour Atmosphere Luminous Foundation in 115

Do you have extremely dry, dehydrated skin and you want a glow? This is for you! CALL NOW AND WE WILL SEND NOT JUST 1 BUT 10 MILLION…sorry. In all seriousness this packs a real glow. It has a very emollient base. Probably due to the fact that the first ingredient is Camellia Seed Oil and the second is Sunflower Oil. If you have oily skin, just don’t even bother with this. It will slide right off of your face. I have dry skin and I STILL need to set this. It’s lovely but I don’t find it very practical for long days.

I definitely prefer the stick form of this foundation to the liquid version. This offers medium coverage and is extremely pleasant to put on. It also smells really earthy and nice. I feel as though I can smell it during the day. Not in an overpowering way just in a nice waft of fresh fields in summer kind of way. The first ingredient is Sunflower Oil and the next is Beeswax so it’s not vegan friendly (something to be aware of). But it is lovely. Gives a nice glow without bordering on glow-tastic like it’s liquid sister.

100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer

This is for those of you who really want a tinted moisturizer that provides just a hint of tint. This evens out the skin tone and that’s about it. Overall, this wasn’t my favorite. It’s a lovely consistency and it lasts all day but it just doesn’t provide enough coverage for my liking. Again, if you want a really minimal coverage base this is your guy. I got the shade White Peach and it was just a bit too pinky-orange for me. Maybe I just need to try a lighter shade.

Kjaer Weis Foundation Paper Thin

I love this. I HATE that I love this. It’s so darned expensive! It’s $68. Gasp! Okay, but wait. Kjaer Weis is extremely environmentally conscious so all of their compacts (which are gorgeous) are reusable. And the refills for the foundation are only $40…which isn’t so bad right? Please validate my future purchases dear readers! IT’S SO GOOD! It’s high coverage, it doesn’t sink into pores, it lasts all day without getting shiny, it doesn’t make my skin dry and it just blends so seamlessly. I really don’t like to wear foundation all over my face. I concentrate it on any areas of redness (cheeks, nose and chin) and feather it out. I rarely wear foundation on my forehead or around the hairline so I need something that blends into the skin seamlessly. This does just that. I think this shade leans a bit too pink for me so I will probably order one or two shades down. Uh oh…already talking about buying this…

Of course the one I’m interested in the most is the priciest one, figures! I love good and lightweight foundations. Never heard of this brand (other than your blog) but their product sounds great.

What? A foundation that is too pink?! (Quietly sneaks off, orders 3 compacts just in case they stop making it…)

    • Ellen February 11, 2016 / 17:57

Their lightest shade might actually work for you really nicely!

    • Ellen February 12, 2016 / 17:25

Definitely give one of them a try. The Kjaer Weis is definitely my favorite. I just ordered a few more samples of different shades!

I’m so desperate when it comes to foundation because my skin is so oily :/ this one is not for me !

    • Ellen February 12, 2016 / 22:25

The Kjaer Weis may work. It’s really long lasting. Definitely try to get a sample first though! I’m sorry Maryam :/ I know how frustrating that can be.
