One in, One out

FLOWER

I live in a small apartment in Philadelphia and lately I feel as though my “stuff” is going to devour me. It’s beginning to stress me out if I’m being honest. I have decided that if I buy something new, something old has to go. If I buy a lipstick, one has to go. And this applies to all things. No more trash picking furniture unless I’m willing to get rid of one of my many chests of drawers.

I firmly admit that I tend to hoard. I have a little voice in my head saying things like, “but what if I need 20 pairs of underwear that all have holes in them one day?” Or my pajama pants that only come halfway down my calf? How will I live without those!

I need to start cutting down on what I own. I am moving in with my fiancé (then to be husband) in June and I just need to get rid of a ton of my stuff. I have 5 months to do it, let’s see how this goes…

Items to which this does not apply:

Books – no matter what anyone says, you can NEVER have too many books. If people tell you otherwise, they’re wrong.

Cats – all the cats. Just kidding. I have a strict, no more cats policy. Two is two too many. Don’t worry they don’t read my blog, the bastards…

I have been going through the same phase and had a major beauty purge end of last year. I also put myself on a spending ban and will only purchase something that I don’t have for example I recently bought a powder highlighter because I noticed I only have cream and liquid highlighters. It’s been refreshing to shop my much smaller but practical makeup stash.

I think it’s really easy to get caught up in the new releases. But then I forget about all of the great products I already own!

That was Ken’s policy also: get rid of one board game when he got a new one. Unfortunately he now has 3 empty bookshelves in the basement begging to host new games!!! And his birthday is approaching ….

I’ll get him another game! It’s nice that we always know what to get for him.

Those kitties seem a little nervous as you look at them with that speculating eye… “Who, ME?? I will be good I promise”

    Gosh they are cute

Haha that’s how they get you! They’re like awe we are so cute we could never do anything wrong! Then you turn away and they’ve stolen your sunglasses.

That’s a lot of books! I love books though, I can’t live without them! I’m going to need a library when I finally own a house!

We have been trying to clean out our wardobe. There so many things we don’t wear. Like you, we have a tendency to hoard our pjs. We have way too many. Usually clothes we don’t wear out any more get shoved in our pj cupboard! hehe

Oh my gosh I do the same thing! All those free tshirts from university are just pj shirts now. I don’t need 20 of them but I keep them anyway!
