Morphe Brushes Review – 35D Palette

I don’t think you can watch Youtube gurus regularly and not hear about Morphe Brushes. Jacklyn Hill and NikkieTutorials use Morphe a lot and they absolutely rave about their palettes! I finally decided to purchase one of their palettes because I was sick and tired of hearing about them without being able to formulate my own opinion.

If you are a regular reader of my blog you know I love color. I can’t help myself. It just calls out to me! Buy me…buy me…you’ll rarely use me but buy me… So I did.

I grabbed the 35D – 35 Color Dark Smokey Palette. This palette actually has a ton of wearable shades mixed in with the gorgeous teals and bright purples. There are some really beautiful purpley taupes and browns that are perfect for an everyday eye look. And then there are those gorgeous blues which is the whole reason I bought the palette! Man they are gorgeous! I find the teals to be a bit better performing than the navy colors.

Overall if you’re looking for crazy colors or building your kit these are really great. However, if you have any sensitivity to talc then do NOT get these. Talc is a cheaper ingredient, often used in cosmetics, almost as a filler. It doesn’t bother me but I know some people are sensitive to it. Some of the shades are patchy (especially the mattes) but most of the shimmers perform well and have awesome staying power.

I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. These are inexpensive and the packaging feels inexpensive. However, the shadows really did surprise me with their blendability and texture. I say, if you’ve been curious, go for it! These are also great if you’re on a budget but you want a range of colors. This palette is currently on sale at Morphe for $22.99.

I have a makeup look coming tomorrow using this palette! Watch out for it!

It is a really big palette! I actually find that I don’t use it as often as I would like because it’s so large!

I am planning to get the 35 shadows palette but the neutral one instead of this, I am still shy from wearing colour eyeshadows. I agree that these seems to be great for the price and I also have a few of their brushes in my list to try.
