Morphe 35D Palette Makeup Look

As promised, I have created a look using my Morphe 35D palette which I reviewed here. I also decided to use Design Seeds again for inspiration. If you didn’t catch my last post explaining what Design Seeds is and how I use it I’ll link that here.

SwanEye (1)

I was really inspired by the palette Graceful Tones by Design Seeds image via @hannievanbreda. Not only was I inspired by the beautiful colors but I was just inspired by the shape of the colors on the swan. That beautiful black surrounding the swans eye just called to me. I only used these shadows (starred) to create this look!

I created a very blended out grey smokey eye. I added a shimmering peach in the inner corner, drawing that up almost to the brow and sweeping it towards the brow bone.

My biggest issue with creating a look using only my Morphe palette is the lack of matte transition shades. They’re mostly shimmers so I didn’t have much choice when it came to a crease and transition color. I actually prefer their shimmer formula to their matte so I really don’t mind having a lot of shimmers within the palette. In the future I’ll have to use a different palette for my transition shade.

I finished the look off with a nude lip and some lashes (as always…) What do you think? Let me know down in the comments! I know it’s super blown out and not very wearable but I had fun anyway!

You look gorgeous! I’m going to have to check this palette out! I just recently purchased the 35W palette and I’m waiting for that one to come in. Hope my experience is as wonderful as yours!

The 35W looks so gorgeous! I am definitely tempted by that one. Thanks so much Brittny!

I think you did a brilliant job with the eye makeup, it’s beautiful despite the lack of a matte transition shade. How do you like the Kat Von D foundation? I wanted to purchase but wasn’t sure if it’s too heavy for me as I love light foundations.

I actually find it to be a bit heavy. It’s nice if you want full on glam and it looks great in photos but it’s definitely not my favorite for everyday. I would say that if you prefer lighter foundations I wouldn’t recommend it. Thanks Shireen!

I’ve never thought about using design seed when I do my makeup, it actually sounds like a great idea! Mix of grey and peach looks really pretty. As always, great look! Also I really like the earrings, they look fab!

Thanks so much Ela! I’ll have to ask where my fiancé got them, they were a Christmas present. Design seeds is really useful when I need inspiration (always…)

I like your whole face look! You always picked the perfect lip color. Can I ask which camera and lens do you use? Your photos look nice!

    • Ellen January 16, 2016 / 16:32

Thanks Sharon! I use a Nikon D3100 DSLR and the lens is 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 Hope that helps! I use Aperture to do any editing that needs to be done 🙂
