Mac Ruby Woo – Makeup Inspiration

MacRubyWoo

I was very spoiled this year when I received Mac Ruby Woo from my fiancé as a Christmas present! I have been lusting over this lipstick for the longest time! He probably gave it to me so I would shut up about it! Just kidding, he loves me.

Anyhow, you all know this is a beautiful color, beautiful formula, etc. etc. I feel as though every single beauty blogger out there has reviewed this lipstick. It’s a cult favorite. So, why am I writing about it?

Every time I look at this shade one image pops into my head. Those fashion shows where the models are wearing a bold red lip and nothing on their eyes. Just glowing skin and a bold lip. It’s such a statement makeup look! I find the prospect of wearing a red lip with not even a bit of mascara really terrifying!

Would you wear this? Let me know if you would be brave enough! I just love how effortless it looks, so gorgeous. I absolutely love it, I’m determined to wear this one day!

I definitely think you could pull it off! I was nervous to wear red lipstick at first too so I just wore it around the house until I got used to it!

Our fiances made a great choice picking it up for us 🙂 It is a gorgeous red! I guess I’d be able to wear it that way, however I’d feel more comfortable if I could also wear mascara.

Haha they’re smart men! I know, the mascara is like a security blanket!

I adore Ruby Woo but damn, it can be so drying on the lips! I have worn Ruby Woo with only eye liner, mascara and the rest of the face bare. It’s something that I do often because I just don’t have the time. LOL! I’ve seen pictures of you and you’re a natural beauty that doesn’t need lots of makeup so I am positive you’ll look fine with the makeup.

Awe thanks Shireen! You’re sweet. It definitely can be trying. I like to wear a lip balm and then a waxy lipliner all over the lips before I apply this lipstick. It helps to lock some moisture in. I still couldn’t wear it for like 9 hours though!

I think it’s so sweet that your boyfriend bought you this firstly, it definitely shows he listens to you! But with a bold lip and a stripped back base I never really thought about it before. Although now, I can see why the thought would be daunting. I think that I would wear this look, but I’d need a slight glow to my skin.

Yeah I would definitely spend extra time perfecting my base. Just because red lips can sometimes bring out the redness in other areas of the face. Haha you’re right he does listen, he’s sweet.

Like you, I’ve always found a red lip but no eye makeup combo really beautiful (so simple and kinda badass!). I am so, so, so tempted to try it, but I stupidly feel naked without any mascara or liner on my eyes. I also wish I could wear Ruby Woo, but every time I’ve tried it on dries out my lips like crazy!

I definitely recommend wearing a really moisturizing lip balm underneath. That should help. It definitely is a bit badass! It’s just so effortless!!!!

I own this lipstick and it’s one of my favourites! But yeah, you should use a lip balm underneath the lipstick. You look stunning! Hope you have a fantastic weekend! xx

Definitely need a lip balm! It’s a bit (a lot) drying ha!
