(Green) Golden Eye

Green-Yellow eye 3I absolutely love color. I love seeing colorful makeup looks and doing colorful makeup looks for my blog. However, I am often stumped for new color combinations. A while ago, I stumbled across a blog called Design Seeds. The creator, Jessica, creates the most beautiful color palettes. I find her work extremely inspirational. Definitely go check her blog out and just enjoy the sensory overload. Love it!

I recently stumbled across the palette Dahlia Yellow (image via: @designseeds) and I just loved the colors. So, I decided to create a look using some of the colors as inspiration. I obviously couldn’t use all the colors in the palette because that would have become a bit crazy. But I really loved the chartreuse color (third shade down) and I desperately wanted to use that to make the lid pop. I also focused on the lighter green directly above the chartreuse and the green directly below the chartreuse.

I didn’t have a chartreuse shade in my collection so I actually mixed one of my gold shadows with the light green shadow from the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette.

I also used the dark green and the light green shadows from the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette individually. The light green I placed in the inner corners and the dark in the outer corners. I used a warm brown in the crease for a transition shade and added a nice black winged liner. It’s a really simple look but the colors were a bit different.

I was a bit stumped as to what to put on my lips. I ended up mixing ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink and Grunge to make this color.  I just didn’t want a full on powerful lip that would detract from the eyes.

I really hope you liked this look and I’ll definitely be using Design Seeds as inspiration in future posts! Let me know what you think!
