Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless

Myabelline Fit me

I have seen so many rave reviews about the new Maybelline Fit Me line that I just had to try it. I decided to pick up the Matte + Poreless foundation. As many of you know I have extreme combination skin. I manage to get flaky and oily in the same spots. I’m blessed, what can I say?

I’m always a bit wary to try matte foundations. They can so easily go wrong on my skin. They can emphasize dry patches, make my skin feel tight or just dry my skin out all together. But, I was determined!

The Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless foundation was an extremely pleasant surprise! If applied with a sponge rather than buffed in with a brush, it doesn’t emphasize dry patches whatsoever. If my skin is feeling particularly dry I like to add a bit of a moisturizing foundation in with this just for good measure.

I like to apply this over my Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm (reviewed here) with a beauty sponge. I then like to pat my powder into the T-zone to set it with a sponge rather than a brush. It just gives such a nice natural finish. I don’t find it completely matte but that may be the oils in my skin making it a bit satiny. It honestly looks really natural, I really like the finish. And it lasts all day, what’s not to love?

As you can see I picked up two shades (because I’m complicated). I have Porcelain 110 which is the lightest shade in the line and Classic Ivory 120. 110 is an extremely neutral, leaning slightly yellow shade. I really like this shade because it knocks back any redness I have. The 120 shade just brings the color back to where my skin tone is but it does lean a bit pinky which is why I like to mix it. Again, I’m complicated. If you can find a match without mixing, do that.

Have you tried anything from the Fit Me line? Should I try one of the powders or the dewy foundation? Let me know down in the comments!

I have used so many high end foundations and this is honestly really really good even compared to very expensive ones. It also doesn’t have a scent which I really appreciate.

It’s definitely worth a try! I haven’t tried the Dewy version yet but I’m sure I will once I have some CVS Extra Bucks or it’s buy one get one kind of thing!

I’ve heard mixed things about this one but I’m still testing it. I like the finish though 🙂

I’m sure it’s one of those that really depends on your skin. Foundation is definitely one of those tricky things to find something that works for everyone’s skin chemistry.

My skin is the same so I know the struggle! I used the original fit me which I liked however haven’t seen this one in the store. If I come across to it, I will definitely give it a try!

It can be such a pain! Skin is so fickle! Definitely give it a go if you can find it!

Thanks for this review. I couldn’t make this foundation work for me (it felt a bit sticky?) but I’m going to try it again but with a beauty blender after reading this post! Wish me luck

Odd, I didn’t find it sticky but foundation is definitely one of those things that plays off of your skin chemistry! Good luck trying it with the beauty blender! Let me know how it works for you! Thanks Brittny xx
