Holiday Party Look – Rose Gold Cut Crease

HolidayCutCrease 6

First holiday look of the season! Who’s excited for all of the holiday parties? And when I say “holiday parties” I mean staying home and watching Love Actually with my cats…

I decided to do a Rose Gold Cut Crease and paired it with the ColourPop Lippie in Creature. In my ColourPop Haul I promised I would do a look featuring Creature, so here it is!

I’ll be honest, creating a cut crease takes a bit of time and patience. It’s one of those looks that halfway through you’re like, OH MY GOSH WHAT DID I DO?! You start hyperventilating but just keep blending! Blend, blend, blend! This honestly didn’t look good until I tight lined and added some lashes.

As you can see I carved my cut crease just a fraction above my natural crease. I have hooded eyes so when my eyes are open this look isn’t too dramatic. But you get that nice cut crease action when you look down. I think it’s a great holiday look, very sultry! Maybe not great for Grandma’s Cookie Exchange Party but you get what I mean.

Just a note: taking pictures in my apartment in Philadelphia, during the winter, is an art form in itself. So when a makeup look is taking a bit longer than expected (like this one) I start freaking out and screaming about the light.

I’m losing light, the light is waning! THE LIGHT!!!! Just a nice picture of my life for you. You’re welcome.

If you’re looking for a fantastic cut crease tutorial there are so many great ones out there. I think it really depends on your style and what you’re looking for.

Nikkie Tutorials does some very intense cut creases (linked here) and Karima from Shameless Fripperies does a much softer cut crease (linked here). Totally depends on your preference and your eye shape. Adjust your placement and intensity to suit your face.

This is my favourite now! You look absolutely beautiful and this makeup would be perfect for holiday season! I will practice cut crease again, last time I tried, I made a big mess and it looked nothing like yours. Also creature looks fab!

A good tip is to use concealer or a tinted eyeshadow primer to sharpen the crease once it’s done. Makes it a ton less messy! Thanks so much Ela

I’m usually not a fan of cut creases as I just think they look a bit unnatural but this is beautiful! Just a soft look and the dark red lips work amazingly well x

Thanks Alina! Yeah I agree it can definitely look a bit harsh. Thanks so much!
