I don’t know about you but by the time I get to Wednesday I’m pretty exhausted. Work has stressed me out and the weekend seems really far away! It’s important to make time in our busy schedules to relax. We can clean the kitchen, bathroom, do the laundry and make dinner. Through all of that, taking care of ourselves seems to fall by the wayside.
I really try to take an hour before bed of “no screen” time. I like to turn away from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TV and my blog and just relax. A good candle is never a bad idea to help you unwind. My current candle is the Voluspa Mokaro which just has a very soothing and clean scent. I like to light my candle, slather my feet with lotion and put my aloe socks on (sexy…).
Nothing relaxes me more than the scent of lavender. I love to dab a little bit of lavender massage oil onto my hands, décolletage and behind the ears. If your loved one is willing to give you a nice massage that’s even better! I use the Body Shop French Lavender Massage Oil, it’s super affordable and lasts forever! Once I smell of lavender and my candle is burning away I like to grab a book and just read for an hour.
No matter how busy life gets this is always something that I make time for. I read scientific journals and stare at a computer screen all day at work and I need a way to disconnect.
