Makeup Challenge (6) Cool Eyes, Warm Lips

CoolEyesWarmLips 4

So…I think I meant to write “Warm Eyes, Cool Lips” for this challenge. I don’t own many warm toned lipsticks so this was actually a challenge, ha. But now I know I need more warm lipsticks! Note to self that is not what this challenge was supposed to be about but you know, whatever. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about I will link my Challenge post here)

I was recently really inspired by Karima’s Naked Smokey Tutorial, which I will link here. If you don’t follow Shameless Fripperies, you need to, like seriously, she’s awesome, RUN DON’T WALK! Okay, I decided to go with her halo shadow placement and create a navy and silver smokey eye with the Lorac Pro 2 palette. (After last weeks challenge where I used a million shadows that I then forgot the names of I limited myself to one palette).

I did my eyes first because it was a super smokey look and I’m too clumsy to be trusted to do my foundation first and then use blue eyeshadow, ha. I primed my eyes and then used the shade Buff all over the eye just to allow for ease of blending and knock back any pigmentation. I then went in with Cool Gray through the crease.

Once the crease was nice and defined I just packed a mixture of the Cool Gray and the Navy onto the outer and inner V of my eye. I connected the two ever so slightly through the crease making sure to leave the ball of the lid bare. I used a bit of white eye pencil to roughly place my highlight and then went in with the shade Snow in the center and blended the edges with the shade Silver. I mirrored the upper lid shadow placement on the lower lash line.

I paired this eye look with the warmest nude lipstick I own. Correction, the only warm nude lipstick I own. Added some lashes and a tiny bit of contour and called it a day! And yes, I went to CVS like this. No judgement.

I am loving the eyes. I am so afraid of doing cool toned eye make-up on myself but this just looks beautiful and not too overpowering. x

Thanks so much Sara, I don’t often do cool toned eye makeup either but it was a fun change! I’m sure it would look great on you! Give it a go
