FINAL CHALLENGE COMPLETE! Phew! Alright, the final challenge was strong liner (complete makeup challenge linked here). As you may know, I am no good at liquid liner. No good at all! I could just practice but… I use surgical tape instead. Lazy girls guide to winged liner! I taped off where I wanted my black wing to be then started building up my crease with neutral tones from Paula’s Choice Matte Palette. The best part about taping off your wing is that you really don’t need to be too neat when it comes to blending. Just blend away! No worries about getting eyeshadow in your hairline. It happens, no judgement.
I recently picked up the Morphe 35D palette and I really wanted to use some of the more pigmented shadows in the palette for a fun colorful look. I decided on a gold lid with a purple lash line. I patted the gold on with my finger to get a nice intense color. My crease work was already done so I just blended everything slightly to make it cohesive.
Closeup alert! I smudged some black shadow against the tape, wedging out my wing. This is honestly my favorite way to create a wing because it’s pretty much fool proof. For fun and a bit of extra drama, I added some white eyeliner below the black after I peeled off my tape. I brought that white liner into the waterline and then smudged an iridescent purple into the lash line. Added some lashes, boom, done.
I kept the rest of the face really simple. A bit of contour, highlighter and a nude lipstick. I actually really like how this came out. It may not be the most wearable but it’s great for a party! Would you wear something like this? What are your favorite products for creating a perfect winged out liner?
