Evening Skincare Basics

Morning Skincare Basics

Hello everyone! I don’t know about you but as the weather gets cooler I like to kick my skincare into high gear. I thought I would share my evening skincare basics with you. No matter what serums/oils/treatments I add to my regiment I always make sure to use these 4 staples to keep my complexion clear and moisturized.

Once I cleanse my face I like to spray a bit of Paula’s Choice Salicylic Acid Body Spray on a textured cotton pad and use this just on the areas of the face where my pores are enlarged or I am breaking out (Note: do NOT spray this directly on the face, you will inhale it, start coughing and then get it in your eyes so you know, consider yourselves warned). Afterwards I add a bit of Paula’s Choice Clear Daily Skin Clearing Treatment just to any blemishes that I have. This treatment is really effective but it’s drying so you don’t want to slather this all over your face as that will just make everything worse (read: only use it where you need it).

Once I treat my face/chest for any acne/blackheads I add whatever oil or serum I feel like using that evening. It honestly depends on how my skin is feeling and if I feel like I need some extra moisture. Once I am all oiled up (oh my…) I use the Hydraluron Moisture Serum which just locks in the Cerave Moisturizing Lotion that I apply on top. I like to use Cerave because it’s extremely gentle on the skin, has no fragrance and is easy on the wallet!

For reference this is my skin type: angry. No, in all seriousness I have very dry, sensitive skin. If I don’t use a moisturizer my skin gets really tight and flaky. I would sooner smooth Chapstick all over my face than go without a moisturizer. I get a bit shiny in the T-zone because my poor skin is trying to hydrate itself but it can’t. I get blemishes primarily on my chin and a bit beside the nose. I have recently been getting the odd breakout on my cheek which is really odd because I never used to break out there! I change my pillow cases often and I clean my cell phone so I honestly don’t know what’s going on with that!

Let me know if you’d be interesting in seeing my morning skincare regime! Also, I use lotion all over my body so we can chat about that too if you’re in the dry skin club like me! That’s a weird thing to say…Hope you all have a great day!!!

I haven’t tried any of these products, but your routine sounds so great! I would really like to try the Paula’s Choice Clear Daily Skin Clearing Treatment. I have been looking for a treatment that is fast acting for a while now.

It’s one of the only products that I have found really works without absolutely killing my skin!

I’ve never tried any of the products you have here but I would be intrigued to try Paula’s Choice as a brand, I would have to try a more hydrating range though I think x

I really love their 8% AHA Gel that’s really great for dry skin!

I’m with you on the super dry skin – it legit starts peeling if I don’t put moisturizer on after cleansing! Cerave is one of my favorite brands, though I neglected it for the longest time since the packaging isn’t pretty to me. What can I say, I’m a sucker for nice packaging!

I totally understand. Packaging is definitely a plus! I just find this works so well I deal with the sub par packaging ha! It also has no fragrance which is really hard to find and my skin is so sensitive to fragrance!

It’s so good and so reasonably priced!

They’re really great if you have sensitive skin or are really sensitive to fragrance like me. They’re just foolproof and not too expensive!

I haven’t tried any of these products however I would like to try that body spray. In colder seasons my skin gets weird and I have dry bits and oily bits so it is hard to find a product that would work. Have a great weekend!

It’s really nice I really like it! You too Ela!
