Makeup Challenge (5) Recreate a Makeup Campaign Look

MakeupCampaign 2 (1)

Guys, you know those Pinterest memes that show the original and then a person’s attempt and it says “NAILED IT” I was super worried this would turn out like that hahaha. I was kicking myself in the butt for making up this challenge. Why did I do this to myself?!

Anyway, I decided to recreate Chanels Summer 2015 Makeup Campaign. I just loved the purple lower lash line and the diffused warm pinky copper eye. Paired with that bold orangey red lip it just spoke to me!

I started with my base since my eyes weren’t super smokey. I made sure to use a nice glowy primer since this was a summer campaign. I kept my foundation pretty light and used a damp makeup sponge to just stipple the foundation into the skin. I used a liquid(y) highlighter to amp up the highlight on the high points of the cheeks, the nose, cupids bow and the inner corners of the eyes. I powdered just a bit in the center of my face with my makeup sponge and dusted a touch of bronzer around the temples. Just a light dusting nothing too crazy.

For the eyes I started with a creamy metallic bronze base just to give extra dimension to the color. I then layered a million and one different bronze shadows because I couldn’t decide so you know that’s super helpful for telling you guys what I used…my bad.

I finished the look with some purple liner and an orangey red glossy lip. I really need to learn that I can add a bit more makeup than I usually do for everyday when it is an “on-camera” situation. I just have such a light hand that it’s a hard habit to break. I definitely could have gone darker with the eyes but you know, live and learn.
