Alright! One challenge down nine to go! If you’re wondering what I am doing I set up a little challenge for myself which I will link here. Today’s challenge was Liquid Metal Lids. I think I gave myself a break on the first challenge because metallic eyes are one of my favorite things to do. I just love the depth and intensity of metallic shadows.
Honestly the hardest part about this challenge was trying to decide if I wanted to go gold, silver or copper. I finally settled on a rich deep gold that has a slight green/coppery undertone. This eye makeup is honestly super easy. All I did was get a flat brush (usually a concealer brush will do the trick) and wet it with some setting spray. I then mapped out the general area of where I wanted the metallic shadow and then patted my shadow on.
I think the best thing you can do with metallic shadows is either apply them with a flat brush or with your finger. That’s how you will get the most foiled effect. After the gold was added to my mobile lid (making sure not to go above the crease) and all around the lash line, I added a bit of depth with a rich brown shadow with a soft hint of gold running through it in the crease and outer corner
I finished with a bit of shimmery light gold on the brow bone and the inner corner along with lashings of mascara. At first I wanted to keep the look very simple so I used a nude lip (partly because I was going to CVS after I shot this…) and then I threw caution to the wind and slapped a pink lipstick on just for fun. What do you think? Do you like the nude or the not-so-conventional pink? Have you created your Liquid Metal Lids yet? Tag me on instagram!
Bare Minerals Palette (This is an older palette so I have no link but just use whichever metallic shades you love most!)
