As promised, I have done a makeup look featuring the two Wet n Wild purchases I reviewed here. These products are just so great that they deserve two posts what can I say?
I decided to do a nice blown out cat eye featuring that gorgeous duo chrome on the lower right hand corner of the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. I also used the brown crease color in the crease (yeah, yeah I know I said I hated the labels) and I used the upper right browbone color all over the lid to allow for ease of blending.
Before I started the makeup look I used my Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base just to prevent any creasing and to increase the intensity of the shadows. I plotted out the rough shape of the wing with my Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Eyeliner in Black. Most duo chrome shadows really benefit by being layered over different colors to bring out the blues or the deeper reds in the shadow.
I smudged the black liner over the eye until I reached the ball of the eye which I left bare. By leaving the center of the eyelids bare it allows that gorgeous teal shimmer to shine through. The brown in the crease just warmed this look up a touch and helped to diffuse everything.
Oh lashes, I can’t not wear lashes…these are the Eylure Lashes Number 118.
So where did I add my gorgeous Wet n Wild Highlighter in Reserve Your Cabana? Everywhere. Everywhere that’s where! Tip of the nose, cupids bow, top of the nose, cheek bones, tear duct, brown bone. So, everywhere.
For the lips I kept it really simple. I didn’t want to make the look too overpowering (HA!) So on the lips is Rimmel Exaggerate liner in the shade Natural with a tiny bit of Lipstick Queen Saint Pinky Nude on top (just a touch!).
You can obviously do a much more subtle, everyday look with this palette but I decided to do something a bit more intense. So what do you think? Will you be picking up the Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette or the highlighter? Let me know if you own any other duo chrome eyeshadows that I should pick up! I’m kind of obsessed with the concept…
