If you read my foundation prep you know that I struggle with dry skin. However, I don’t love using “moisturizing” foundations because they make me shiny and are often a bit too rich and can break me out. I also tend to stay away from anything with too much alcohol as that is just a recipe for disaster. I like to find something in the middle. Something that isn’t “moisturizing” but also not “mattifying.”
My favorite combination is the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk plus a small dollop of L’oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer. The primer brings a nice glow with no glitter to be seen. The foundation is a nice medium to full coverage that doesn’t catch on any dry patches and doesn’t break me out.
I wear the shade 4.5 which is perfect for me in Summer. During the cooler months I just add a bit more of my Light Infusing Primer which lifts the color a shade or two.
At first I was deterred by the price of the foundation but you honestly need so little of it! My favorite way to apply this combination is to put a small dollop of each on the back of my hand and start patting it into my skin with a finger. I usually finish blending with a moist Real Techniques Sponge. I find this to be the best application technique for potentially flaky skin because you won’t be lifting those dead skin cells. Pleasant.
I hope this combination helps! Try adding the Light Infusing Primer to any of your foundations to lighten it a touch and allow for ease of blending (oh that sounded like an infomercial…). I will also link my foundation prep here! I hope this helps!
