In the age of contour we all have our favorite products to create that chiseled look. Everyone has a certain preference when it comes to contour. Warmer, cooler, grayer? I typically prefer a cooler contour but I have a pretty good mix of options that I wanted to share.
Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium – This is just a classic. The quality is impeccable. So soft, blendable and pigmented. This is most definitely a cooler, grayer contour. If you prefer a warmer contour this is not for you. But if you want to create shadows without adding the warmth of a bronzer I strongly recommend this. (Also a great crease color!)
Marc Jacobs #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Mirage Filter 40 – This definitely borders on a warmer contour. However, due to it’s lack of shimmer and still slightly gray undertone I think it makes a great contour. Definitely on the pricey side but you get a great matte yellow highlight with it. It’s great to set the under eye concealer or highlight a bit. It’s Marc Jacobs, the quality is fantastic, what else can I say?
Milani Bronzer XL in Fake Tan 02 – This is NOT for the person that likes a cool contour. I saw this in the store and thought it would be cooler than it is, it swatches quite warm. However, being Milani the quality of the powder is great and it’s very reasonably priced. If you prefer a warmer contour this is definitely worth a look. I also looked online and their 04 Dolci shade seems to be more neutral. The left side is completely matte while the right has some shimmer that can be mixed in if you want a bronzy highlighted look instead of a contour.
This photo shows just how much warmer the Milani powder really is compared to the Kevyn Aucoin which is much grayer.
Are there any contours that you have been loving? Let me know!
