Drugstore Haul

Drugstore Haul - 1

Drugstores in Philadelphia are always a little bit meh… They’re crowded and I always see someone trying on the lipstick (ON THEIR LIPS) in the store. WHY!?!?! We do NOT have testers in most of the U.S. drugstores so it’s especially gross. Anyhow, July was my birthday month so I decided to brave the crowds and head into Ulta for a bit of a haul…

Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara – I was a bit disappointed with this mascara. It irritates my eyes a bit but the biggest issue is that the wand is very flexible so if I try to get to the roots of my lashes I just end up with mascara everywhere. Overall not my favorite but I will keep testing this! If you want my other mascara recommendations I’ll link that here.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Mico Eye Liner – This is a great eyeliner pen. I especially recommend this for beginners because the tip is very thin and short so it’s easy to control. It’s also very black so there’s no need to go over this again and again to build up the color. Overall, worth a look if you need a new eyeliner pen and you find the larger ones difficult to control.

Eylure Lashes – What can I say…who doesn’t need more lashes? I just did a Summer Smoky Eye look with the corner pieces from the texture pack (read that here). I wore them all day and they were very comfortable! I purchased the Texturing and Lengthening Love it Try it packs.

Essence 3D Eyeshadow – I swatched this in store and was actually really impressed with the amount of pigment that these shadow had. I was hesitant to buy it, only because I honestly haven’t heard much about the brand. These are just okay, they last well but I can’t get the foiled texture I really want from the colors. If you’re into sheerer eyeshadows then these are worth a look. I purchased Irresistible Caramel Cream.

Essence Silky Touch Blush – I remember Essie Button mentioning this once so I was like, eh why not? They’re so inexpensive. I actually really enjoy this blush. It’s very soft and lasts all day. Note that although it looks matte there is a small hint of shimmer thrown in.

Overall the eye liner the lashes and the blush were complete wins! Is there anything else that I should try at the drugstore? Let me know!

OMG I’ve never thought about people actually trying on lipstick on their lips in the store. I will forever rethink purchasing drugstore lipstick… On a lighter note, I’ve wanted to try Essence blushes ever since I heard Estée talking about them, but I’ve never seen that brand in a store! I thought it was a UK brand or something.

      Hey Darian!

I found it in Ulta. I included the links in the post 🙂 If you’re in the U.S. you can order them! They’re actually really nice for the price, definitely worth a try if you’re able to get them.
